Fallsmead ES

We will begin a unit on energy and electricity April 29.  We'll be taking notes on a graphic organizer (web). Then we'll write a a paragraph using some of what we've learned about electricity.  We've had some practice writing 'hooks' or topic sentences, order words and concluding sentences for our paragraphs titled, "HOW TO...".  We'll be choosing writing pieces from throughout the year to add to our creative writing (poetry) book.   As with the China project, copies will be sent home.

 I am sure you've heard about our China project.  We are ALMOST done!  We have to design our title page, complete a Table of Contents, Glossary, Index and Bibliography.  Mrs. Puyear taught us how to use ImageQuest from the Media Center's online resources.  We learned that we cannot claim a photograph or map as our own and we must cite where it came from.

Thanks to Mrs. Bodie and for typing our sentences and helping us choose and insert photographs and citations.

We have had A LOT of fun with this project and have learned SOOO much.  We worked in teams to order our individual sentences so the resulting paragraphs would make better sense.

Once we are all done, I'll insert it below.  Printing color copies for all students is expensive!  

We will use our notes to write information and opinion paragraphs about a place in China we'd like to visit.
