Reading
we will continue to identify the central message of poems, stories and articles.  We will focus on characters, their traits and important details/events.  To improve our vocabulary, we will use context clues to determine the meanings of words.
Writing
We will take a narrative writing piece through the writing process of editing our sloppy copies focusing on organization, capitalization, punctuation and spelling.  We will use checklists, peer editing and digital tools to publish these in final form.
Math
We will solve word problems using pictures, manipulatives, equations and addi  tion and subtraction.  We will write our own word problems.  Do we have enough information to solve it?  Is there an unknown quantity?  How do we set an equation up for that?  Do we understand the meaning of '= equal'?
