We have just one week left of marking period two.  We are finishing our personal narratives, our memory quilt, our culture project and our math assessment.

Mrs. Wasser and I are focusing on what LISTENING means.  It is hearing what is said, thinking about what is said and DOING what is said.  It is a VERY important skill that many of us need to work on.

Our first grade team is taking a couple of half days to look at marking period three and the new curriculum/materials.  So far we are pleased.  There is a geography project where we learn about direction words, map symbols, landforms, natural and human-made resources.  We start off identifying and using this information as it relates to the USA.  Then we will do the same with another country.  I'm looking forward to it.  In math we will explore nonstandard measurement and in reading we will continue to focus on informational text.
